On September 27th, the opening reception for And Who is My Neighbor: Stories From the Margins is scheduled from 6:30-8:30pm at The Green Art Gallery at Biola University. Curated by Nery Gabriel Lemus and Jeff Rau, the group exhibition features artists “respond to division and injustice by highlighting the stories of oppressed and marginalized people” as suggested by the title inspired by the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan. Currently through Strange Cessation, Matthew Palladino has a three prints available for in a variety of sizes, editions, and prices. The three images are a good selection of the New York-based artist’s work from a few years back including a sticker image, a distorted and stretched piece, as well as an example of his wit. Following up on an amazing collaboration between Etam Cru and Robert Proch in Poland, Crystal Wagner was the next artist invited in by UNIQA Art Lodz to beautify the city. The new installation (created from wire armature, rip-stop water proof and UV protective nylon, cable ties) for the urban art program curated by Michał Bieżyński (of Lodz Murals) is entitled Hyperbolic and looks like it’s devouring the building. Portland residents David Rice and Blaine Fontana besieged the Mile High City recently with their latest show Chromagrain at Svper Ordinary Gallery. Residents of Denver are familiar with what these two are capable of together as their collaboration mural was one of the featured pieces at last year’s Colorado Crush street art festival. On October 20th, Petit Palais in Paris will be opening up a new exhibition from Kehinde Wiley entitled Lamentaion. For his first solo show in France, the African American artist will be presenting ten pieces (stain glass works and paintings), some created in his signature style of posing anonymous youths from urban centers in the same way the subjects in classical portraiture. For this showing in particular, Wiley will continuing his use of religious iconography including a reference for the first time to the Virgin Mary. […]

After nine months of preparation, Conor Harrington (interviewed) has opened a solo exhibition entitled Watch Your Palace Fall at Pace Gallery London in Soho. Continuing his narrative of politically charged oil paintings, the locally-based artist rendered fights between military male characters dressed in 18th century uniforms, with all the rage and thirst for power evident in their visages. Tomorrow night (September 15th) in New York, Daniel Arsham will be opening a show at Galerie Perrotin entitled Circa 2345. The exhibition will be the locally-based artist’s 11th solo with the gallery, but his first in their NYC branch. Galería Javier López & Fer Francés are starting their new exhibition season with a new show by Todd James entitled We Are One.
