Next door to the main hall of Art Basel (covered – part 1, part 2), the Unlimited section was reserved for mostly large site specific installations. The twelfth edition of the Volta Fair in Basel returned to its dome home at Markthalle. As one of the satellite events to the main Art Basel expo (covered – part 1, part 2), the fair featured a selection of galleries and artists that included 68 exhibitors from 20 countries worldwide. The London edition of the Affordable Art Fair is a twice-yearly event alternating between both sides of the River Thames. From 16–19 June, it was held in Hampstead Heath with over 100 galleries exhibiting works priced between £100 and £5,000. Moving closer to its big brother, the Scope Art Show is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in Basel at a new location three blocks away from the main fair (covered – part 1, part 2). Three years since his debut show with the gallery (covered), the New York-based artist is back in Giswil for another exclusive showcase with More Gallery. Tom Sachs’ current exhibition (through July 24) is unprecedented in the 30 year history of the Noguchi Museum in that he is the first artist to be awarded a solo at the institution other than the original founder. Currently on view at Joseph Gross Gallery in Chelsea, NY is Refuge, a solo exhibition featuring thirteen works by Peter Gronquist.
