Preview: “Overdose” Hi-Fructose Group Show @ Copro Gallery

After their highly successful group show last year, Hi-Fructose is back again with another exhibition, this time titled “Overdose,” opening April 4th at Copro Gallery.  With a increasingly more respected reputation as one of the best publications in the scene, they been able to assemble a pretty amazing lineup.  Sure to be one of the showstoppers is this huge 50 x 50 inch Chris Berens piece seen above.  See some other preview pics as well as the full lineup after the jump.

“Natural Beauties” and “Superschool” (previewed) opened at Copro Gallery this past Saturday, March 7th. Armory Week: Pulse Art Fair

As we previously did with SCOPE, here is a quick run through of the satellite Pulse Fair put on during Armory Week in NY. On display were many artists that we love including this large showstopper from Martin Wittfooth (above). More pics after the jump.

Preview: Lola & Super School @ Copro Gallery

A couple interesting shows are opening this weekend at Copro Gallery (formerly Copro Nason Gallery) at the Bergamot Station complex in Santa Monica. The first is “Natural Beauties,” a solo show from Lola after her recent successful showing at Corey Helford Gallery. The other group show running concurrently is actually curated by Lola and entitled “Superschool.” Definitely check this out at the opening on March 7th as the long list of great artists include Scott Musgrove, Travis Louie, Gary Baseman, Sas Christian, Chet Zar, Heiko […]

Openings: Dan May @ Copro Nason

Dan May (interviewed) was in attendance at the opening of his solo show “Slow Collision” this past Saturday at Copro Nason. In addition to having the pleasure of meeting and speaking with May himself, attendees were intrigued by May’s dreamlike, lush environments and delightful yet haunting humanoids and monsters. Check out all of the photos from the opening after the jump.

Preview/Interviews: Dan May @ Copro Nason

Dan May’s show “Slow Collison” opens this Saturday, February 7th at Copro Nason.  His lush environments and monsters are as eye catching now as they were when we first saw his work on flickr several years ago.  Of course, his work has evolved and become more rich with fantastic compositiona and “story-telling.”  Dan takes some time to answer some questions for us about his current show as well as plans for the rest of 2009.  Check the interview and some preview pics after the jump.

Openings: Dreamscapes @ Definition Gallery

Kim at Definition Gallery forwarded us some images from their group show Dreamscapes, which includes some artists that we think are headed for bigger things like Michael Page, Martin Wittfooth, Dan May and Andy Kehoe (seen above). We like Page’s storytelling, Wittfooth’s textures, May’s linework, and Kehoe’s wonderful landscapes. These artists all paint surreal scenes and creatures from deep within their imaginations, hence the title of the show. More photos after the jump.
