Entitled Collective Reflections, the new work body of work draws from his Hawaiian roots and features the beautifully grotesque imagery that he is known for. The central inspiration for this latest […]

Streets: World Roundup (Jul 7 – Jul 20)

A review of recent public works for our Streets World Roundup sees this new mural (seen above) from Shok-1 as one of the standouts. Entitled  The Consumer, the new piece makes a clever modification in the Pac-Man imagery that we are used to and again highlights the sublime translucent x-ray spraycan technique from the London-based artist. Other notable walls come from Know Hope x 2501 – Austria, Gaia – South Carolina, Cyrcle. – Poland, Borondo – UK, Aaron Li-Hill – New Jersey (source), Faith47 – […]

Streets: World Roundup (Dec 30 – Apr 13)

It’s been a while since our last Streets: World Roundup so it’s time to revive the feature where we share a summary of some recent art from the streets. Headlining things for us is a new piece from Italian street artist Blu in Niscemi, Sicily. Along with his signature style, his political views are also quite evident in this large impressive wall mural. Other worthy work comes from Olek – NYC (source), Gaia – Baltimore (source), Escif – Spain, Ludo – London (source), Aakash Nihalani – Italy, […]

Streets: World Roundup (July 15 – 21)

It’s been a while since we had a streets round up here on AM so we have some catching up to do. Leading off things for recent street activity around the world is this new mural (photo via SAN) from Conor Harrington (interviewed) in Rochester, New York. The wall was painted for the ongoing WALL\THERAPY festival and features the UK-based painters signature mix of colonialism, abstraction, and photorealism. Other notable murals include work from: Proembrion – Poland (source), Ericailcane x Bastardilla – Italy (source), Herbert Baglione x SAN […]

I believe we are all searching for […]

Video: Ekundayo

Ekundayo (interviewed), who we hung out with at POW WOW earlier this year, recently sent us this video of him getting up on Kapahulu in Hawaii.  Not a stranger to wall work in his home state (see here and here), the LA-based artist painted this newest piece after being inspired by an old Hawaiian legend of which he explains in the video above.  The project was supported in part by 33THIRD.com and UMIWORKSHOP.com.
