From the 26th of March until the 10th of April, the Belgian coastal city of Ostend hosted The Crystal Ship festival on its streets. Better known for their beer festival, the town instead gifted their public space to world-renowned artists to create works through the city. Streets: Pangeaseed – “Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans” (New Zealand) – Part II

After a look at some of the artists at work on their pieces for the Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans project sponsored by the PangeaSeed Foundation, here is a look at some select walls they painted. The muralists were invited in by the non-profit in Napier, New Zealand to create works to raise awareness for ocean environmental issues. PangeaSeed Foundation recently took off on another large expedition – accompanied by 29 international and local artists as they launched the newest edition of their Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans street art festival in Napier, New Zealand. Tomorrow night (November 19th) at the 557C West 23rd Street location of Jonathan LeVine Gallery, Faith47 will be opening a solo entitled Aqua Regalia – Chapter Two. Streets: Faith47 (New York)

Earlier this week, Faith47 finished a mural in East Harlem on the corner of 103 Street and Madison Avenue entitled Estamos Todos Los Que Cabemos, a part of MonumentArt, presented by the La Marqueta Retoña initiative. The wall was painted as part of the project focused on the issue of immigration with the imagery of migratory birds chosen for the fact their their patterns ignore human borders on a map. Streets: Faith47 (Jersey City)

World traveller and prolific street artist Faith47 has been painting a series of murals in Jersey City and NYC in recent weeks. This particular piece featuring the South Africa-based artist’s signature swans and color palette went up in Jersey City Heights on the side of a multi-story building. Streets: Faith47 – “Una Salus Victis Nullam Sperare Salutem” (Johannesburg)

Una Salus Victis Nullam Sperare Salutem is the name of a new mural from Faith47 in Johannesburg on the corner of Fox and Rissik street. The piece captures some zebras in action along with a phrase that references Virgil’s Aeneid paraphrased by the artist – “the one safety for the vanquished is to abandon hope of safety.
