Streets: Nunca (Los Angeles)

Over the weekend, Brazilian artist Nunca finally finished a mural he has been working on all week in the heart of Los Angeles for the TARFEST Music and Art Festival. The massive piece (arranged by Merry Karnowsky Gallery & Launch Gallery) features imagery quite appropriate for the location with a series of paparazzi figures painted in the street artist’s distinctive style. The Wooster Collective recently celebrated their 10th anniversary of existence with a massive show at New York’s Jonathan LeVine Gallery. Preview: KAWS for MTV VMA’s

With this year’s Video Music Awards from MTV only several days away, installation has already started for the event. Os Gemeos x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle Launch (New York)

Last Thursday marked the official launch of Hennessy’s latest VS Cognac bottle created by famed Brazilian artists Os Gemeos (featured). This marks their third successful artist collaboration following up previous designs by esteemed artists Futura (covered) & KAWS (covered). Like past collabs, there was an intimate meet up with the duo to discuss the project and its inspirations. Streets: Kenny Scharf (Los Angeles)

After opening his show at Honor Fraser (covered) in Los Angeles as well as painting on the cars of his lucky fans in the area, Kenny Scharf (interviewed) returned to New York where he continued improving vehicles with his signature imagery. He seems to get around, as he was back in the City of Angels last week to create a new mural (arranged by Branded Arts) in Culver City. Streets: JR – Inside Out/11M (Los Angeles)

After tipping you off last week to the fact that JR’s (interviewed) photobooth truck was in Los Angeles, we headed by for a look ourselves. The mobile photo units have been traveling the US (and the world) of late, spreading the French photographer and street artist’s Inside Out love. Showing: Titi Freak – “In A Dream” @ Black Book Gallery

Earlier this month, the Black Book Gallery in Denver opened In A Dream, a new solo from Titi Freak. Sending over works from Brazil, the artist known for his street art made his heritage and his two years apprenticing in Japan count by letting their influence shine through. The new body of work is centered around a large 10 panel wood piece featuring a koi fish, and supported by loose portraits as well as a wall of leaves.
