Streets: Shepard Fairey (New York)

Last week, Shepard Fairey (featured) visited New York City to show a little love for his fans in the Big Apple. Mr. Obey and his posse worked on a massive six story mural on Bowery just off of Broome as he took advantage of the Manhattan skyline with the help of the L.I.S.A. project. Entitled We Own The Future, this fresh creation took over three days to finish and we stopped by to document the process from beginning to end. Discuss Shepard Fairey here. Over the course of several days, Salazar painted clusters of his whimsical imagery against Monroe’s Tron-like structured background that hints at trees. Resulting in a striking collaborative wall, their hard work can be seen at 4703 N Albina Avenue. Discuss Brendan Monroe […]

Streets: World Roundup (Aug 4 – Aug 24)

With the return of our Streets: World Roundup feature, we first want to bring your attention to a new mural from Blu in Sardinia, Italy. The wall he painted once again showed his skills with large-scale imagery while working around architectural features of his surface. Also, the upside down toy soldiers are consistent with the Italian street artist’s penchant for politically charged public works. Other worthy walls come from Ernest Zacharevic – US, Satone – Germany, Seth – Puerto Rico, Bordalo II – Portugal (source), […]
