Streets: Hush (Melbourne)

After a showing in San Francisco at the beginning of this year, Hush (interviewed) has moved on to Melbourne to prepare for his next exhibition scheduled for May at the Metro Gallery. Preview / Setup: Hush – “New Work” @ 941 Geary

Tomorrow night in San Francisco, UK-based Hush (interviewed) will be bringing his blend of imagery from the Far East and urban sensibility to 941 Geary. From the preview photos we have seen, attendees will be enjoying small to large mixed-media works featuring his special technique that includes painting, screen printing, spray-painting and collage. Just weeks after unveiling an installation at Onethirty3 (covered), the UK based Hush (interviewed)  is currently working on his next exhibition scheduled to open on Saturday, January 21st. Returning to San Francisco after a showing back in 2010 (covered), the indoor-outdoor specialist will be presenting his gritty Asian-inspired creations at 941 Geary. Openings: Hush @ Onethirty3

Last week, the Onethirty3 installation space in Newcastle hosted its newest featured guest – Hush (interviewed). The UK-based artist presented his signature blend of anime influenced imagery with the raw energy of urban forms while creating an immersive transformation in the gallery confines. While AM is cavorting artists, fellow bloggers, and industry friends at Art Basel Miami Week, the rest of the art world is not coming to a complete standstill. For example, later tonight, Dec. 1st, across the pond at Onethirty3, Hush (interviewed) will be unveiling a new installation at a new show that will include videos and photographs that document the first year of the gallery and project space. Openings: Blek le Rat – “60/30” @ 941 Geary

Blek le Rat opened up his latest exhibition, 60/30 Saturday at 941 Geary. The title of the exhibition represents his 60th birthday and 30 years of being an artist and celebrates a career that has heavily influenced the street art being put up today. The show consists mainly of large canvases featuring worked backgrounds and his signature stencil work, with a few collaborations with artists such as Hush and APEX in the mix. Openings: “Made In Polaroid” @ Phillips de Pury

AM recently attended the star studded charity art show Made In Polaroid held at Phillips de Pury. The benefit was a one night auction that featured 50 works created by the 50-50-50 project using Polaroid’s mobile printer. All proceeds went to support Free Arts NYC. Openings: Hush – “Twin” @ New Image Art

After first working on a wall in Melrose (covered) several days ago, it finally came time to reveal Hush’s (interviewed) newest collection of works at New Image Art in West Hollywood. Videos / Streets: Hush – “Twin” (Los Angeles)

Finding time before his opening in Los Angeles tomorrow night, Hush’s (interviewed) hit up a wall with his multi-textured technique.  The mural at De La Barracuda is consistent with his new body of work that plays with the idea of duality through a series of Twin paintings.  On a busy Saturday night of art, make sure you make time to head over to New Image Art between 7-10pm.
