Showing: Vhils – “Debris” @ HOCA Foundation (Part I)

As part of his solo exhibition with the HOCA Foundation in Hong Kong, Alexandre Farto aka Vhils (filmed) has prepped a special installation at the Terrace of Pier 4 in Central. The neon works were modeled after the ubiquitous lighted signage the Portuguese saw during his residency in Hong Kong, as well as images that he created from scratch. Armory Week ’16: Armory Art Fair

Earlier this month, New York City welcomed in the Armory Art Show. This annual event showcases some of the brightest names and current trends in contemporary art (@ Pier 94) with a portion dedicated to some of the classics from art history (@ Pier 92). HOCA Foundation will be opening Debris tonight, the first solo exhibition by Alexandre Farto aka Vhils (filmed) in Hong Kong. Victori + Mo gallery in New York is currently showing Chaos and Wild Again by local artist Brian Willmont. Along with working with him on a solo exhibition, the gallery also recently successfully introduced his work with a booth at the Volta Art Fair during Armory Week in New York. Last month Slow Culture moved from LA’s Highland Park to Chinatown, and on March 4th, they opened the PDFW: Performance. Drawing. Film. Writing. group show by THE DFW crew. After successfully painting what was billed as the world’s largest outdoor mural (covered) for last year’s NuArt Festival, French artists Ella & Pitr recently returned to Norway to create couple of new pieces in and around Stavanger. Yoskay Yamamoto Installation @ interTrend

Over the course of last week, Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed) set up an installation at ad agency and supporter of the arts interTrend in Long Beach. The piece entitled wish you were here… was originally part of a show at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo that has now been reconfigured in two parts for the new space. As we previously reported, Think Tank Gallery is currently has on view a large installation and two man show Break Bread, which Includes new works by Baker’s Son and Scott Hove.
