Teaser: Jonathan LeVine Five Year Anniversary Group Show

James Jean (interviewed) recently posted up images of two small paintings (12″ x 12″) for the upcoming Jonathan LeVine Five Year Anniversary Group Show. The two pieces are beautiful although disturbing as they feature shoemakers, but also what appear to be children – bringing up thoughts of child labor (one of them seen smoking). An intriguing start to a show we are naturally excited about, considering the pedigree of artist that has come through the LeVine gallery through the years. It opens on February 27th […]

Openings: “Giant Robot Biennale” @ the Japanese American National Museum (Part II)

The work of James Jean (interviewed), David Choe, Jeff Soto (interviewed), and Souther Salazar were definitely the highlights of the exhibition, at least in our minds. It seems like they put in the effort and time to create some of the best pieces we have ever seen from them. Take a look at all the amazing […]

Eric, one of the founders of GR then proceeded to give a speech and introduced some of the artists. After that, it was time to check out all the art work – with the group show in the floor level gallery and the heavy hitters in […]

Sun among others. Check the show card after the jump…
