On Saturday night, AM attended the opening for Joshua Liner Gallery’s annual “Summer Show”. Apparently, so did many of the art loving New Yorkers that turned out to pack the house. AM recently stopped by the Joshua Liner Gallery to check out a copy of Ryan McLennan’s new book “The Cost of Comfort”. Published by Triple Stamp Press, the special edition book is actually a loose-leaf art book that contains 20 specially selected 9″x12″ giclee prints and comes encased in a custom made pine/birch wood box. On Saturday night, Travis Louie (featured) premiered his latest body of work entitled “Curious Myths” at Joshua Liner Gallery. Opening along with peer Sylvia Ji (covered), this show was another consistently detailed and creative endeavor that we come to expect from Mr. Louie. This past Saturday, AM attended the opening of Sylvia Ji’s (interviewed) “Las Adelitas” at Joshua Liner Gallery. The solo exhibition is Sylvia’s first in New York (previewed). Showcasing her signature Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) portraiture style, she honed in on the theme of “Las Adelitas”: the female fighters of the Mexican Revolution. This Saturday, Joshua Liner Gallery is prepped to showcase Travis Louie’s (featured) latest body of work entitled “Curious Myths”, the first solo show for Mr. Louie at the New York space.
