Update: Space//Form Group Exhibition @ Breeze Block Gallery

One of the most interesting things about curating a group exhibition of over 100 artists is getting to see behind the scenes as the artists develop their work for the show (Chloe Early seen above). Updates come constantly as the participants share their excitement about creating work for the show, and getting to see  some of the creative process that goes into the work is always a pleasure. Space//Form opens in just a couple of weeks time now in Portland at Breeze Block Gallery and here […]

Upcoming: “Space//Form” @ Breeze Block Gallery

Following our recently curated group exhibitions in Hong Kong; East West Connect and Los Angeles; City of Fire, AM’s UK correspondent Sven Davis has branched out with his own curatorial endeavour Space//Form. The group exhibition brings together over 100 young contemporary artists, and opens 6th September at Portland’s Breeze Block Gallery. Curator, Sven Davis, has worked in architecture for over 20 years, so the thematic center of the exhibition is close to his heart as Space//Form centers around notions of the architectural landscape. Each of the […]

Kozyndan – The Audience Office Mural

Husband and wife duo, Kozyndan, recently completed a two-piece mural for the offices of The Audience in Los Angeles. The vibrant large-scale pieces covered the walls floor to ceiling with imagery that expresses their fascination with the bizarre and their love for the ocean (like their show in NY). Take a look at the entire image in stunning detail here, but also take a look at more shots from the office after the jump…

Showing: Kozyndan – “Their Bones Are Coral Made” @ Bold Hype

A couple weeks ago, the husband and wife duo known as Kozyndan opened their newest solo show at the Bold Hype Gallery in New York. As anyone who follows their flickr knows, they often upload photos of their underwater adventures as well as titillating inspirations. Take a look at more pics after the jump including some great prints they created for the […]

Remember last year’s 35th birthday bash for Hello Kitty (covered)? Well, if you enjoyed that, then you will be excited to know it’s almost time for another Sanrio show. This time, it’s for the 50th anniversary of the company and yes, that means all your favorite characters are free game for the artists like the Badtz Maru incarnation from Travis Louie (interviewed) seen above. Of course, the group show won’t be the only festivities held at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica starting November 12th. […]

New Kozyndan Panoramic – “The Best Sushi in Town”

Opening tomorrow or today, June 4th, depending what time zone you are in will be Kozyndan’s three-day exhibition at the Nelly Duff Gallery entitled “And Then There Were None”. More exciting for fans of the husband and wife duo is that fact that they will be unveiling a new panoramic entitled “The Best Sushi in Town” (seen above). For those unfamiliar with their work, these long lengthwise expositions of pop culture and imagination are one of their most beloved creations. They are so packed with […]

This year’s Giant Robot Biennale opened last Saturday night at the Japanese American National Museum. Eric, one of the founders of GR then proceeded to give a speech and introduced some of the artists. Releases: Kozyndan x PUMA Line

An artist duo that we have been following for a long time now, Kozyndan (Kozy & Dan) collaborated with PUMA on a clothing and shoe line a while back. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a Europe-only release and fans in the States never got a chance to snatch some of these items up…  until now. Here is a shot of a window display at the PUMA store on the 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica. It appears that other stores will be carrying the line as […]
