Update: Swoon (London & New Orleans)

It looks like Swoon (interviewed) is in London at the moment judging from this piece seen on the streets by the good people at Hooked Blog. The wheatpasted image is modeled after the stunning Thalassa installation she created for the New Orleans Museum of Art back in June and is a marker for her upcoming show at Black Rat Projects next month. Streets: Banksy – Robbo Tribute

Banksy is back to the London streets, with a tribute to King Robbo, at the exact same spot that started the controversy (covered here) two years ago. In a sign of making peace, Mr. B drew the outline like King Robbo did back in 1985 in the original and added a “spray can” candle, as a well wisher to Robbo, currently in induced coma. AM was pleased to see a visit this week from NY based artist Olek (featured), we don’t often get to see a crocheted cab on the streets of London! Great fun and very impressive. The recent opening of a third gallery space in London confirms White Cube ongoing strength, and its presence at the Frieze Art Fair is nothing less than spectacular. The booth features some impressive works by the gallery’s roster of artists such as Jake and Dinos Chapman, Marc Quinn, Damien Hirst, Andreas Gursky, and Tracey Emin to name a few.
