On September 9th, Antony Micallef (interviewed) will be returning to the Rathbone Place location of Lazarides with another exhibition. Happy, Deep Inside My Heart, will be his first solo since 2009 at the London gallery (covered), although his work was seen stateside in a group show with Conor Harrington, JR and Vhils in Beverly Hills last year. Tracey Emin’s Work Installed In UK’s Governmental Headquarters

10 Downing Street, or known by people in the UK as Number 10, the governmental headquarters recently had one of Tracey Emin’s signature neon signs installed. Intended as a gift (to the Government Art Collection) and a suggestion, the piece was placed in the Terracotta Room by order of the Prime Minister David Cameron, who is the fan of the often provocative YBA’s work. Since the last AM London Instagram Roundup, quite a bit has being going on. First up, it was great to see Mobstr’s newly painted shutters with the words “Huh?” repeated in black and white to make up one giant “Huh?” Also, the side door to Stolen Space Gallery had a wonderful make over by Word to Mother, very nice. After gifting his native country of Ireland with three cowboy-themed murals (here, here and here), Conor Harrington (interviewed) has returned to England to continue working on his next solo show. He did find time however to paint this wall in London going back to his signature colonial style. Last week, AM went along to the opening night at Tony’s, London, to grab some pics and get a feel of East London’s Burning Candy exhibition A Fist full of Paint. Knowing the exterior had been brilliantly tagged with a paint filled fire extinguisher, it was good to see the interior had been done in the same style. A couple of weeks back AM went along to take a look at Meggs‘ first London solo exhibition entitled Inner Demons. Slow Your Roll, the first UK solo show by Brooklyn art duo Skewville, launched last Friday at High Roller Society. AM took advantage of the East London gallery’s new Sunday opening hours to visit over the weekend in the calm of a non-preview atmosphere. This Friday, November 12th, London will get another taste of the New Contemporary art movement as London Miles will be hosting “The Idol Hours” group show.
