Preview: Worlds on Fire “Grammy” Show

Art and music have always been intertwined.  Whether it be Jay-Z including one of Murakami’s paintings in his music video “Blue Magic,” KAWS collaborating on an album cover with Kayne West, Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden collecting Luke Chueh paintings, or Dave Cooper creating a music video for Danko Jones, the examples seem endless. One of these intersects will open next week with the “World on Fire” show at the Pacific Electric Lofts in LA where many well-known artists in the Low Brow and/or Contemporary Art […]

He talks about this as well as some other things an interview with us after the jump.

Ryden x Nagi Noda

Although the fashion line was released a while back, we only recently saw the amazing ads for “Broken Label” – a collaboration between Mark Ryden and the late Japanese designer Nagi Noda. This line was sold through Colette in Paris and featured Ryden’s well known imagery. Apparently, the dresses were one of Noda’s favorites and she must have known her time had come because she was said to have died wearing her “Mark Ryden dress, Chanel boots, and perfect make-up with Viktor & Rolf lace […]

Teaser: Audrey Kawasaki @ Outre Gallery

Audrey Kawasaki will be opening a show in Australia at Outre Gallery on February 13th. This will mainly be an exhibition of sold out prints (APs) with only one new original (in progress seen above). There will also be a new print scheduled for released as well. For our readers down under who want more of Audrey, look for a larger show in 2010 that should presumably include more originals.
