Releases: Audrey Kawasaki – “Offering” Print

In a couple hours, 9AM PDT to be exact, Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) will start releasing her new print “Offering” on the Thinkspace online store. It measures 18 x 18″, is signed and numbered, and will come in an edition of 400 for $235. For those that miss out on the 200 that will be available today, next week on Saturday, October 12th at 12pm PDT, the rest will be available on the Audrey Kawasaki Shop (with a framing option as well). Releases: Brendan Monroe x Mars1 – “Ascender” Print

Rarely has collaborations melded the styles of two artists resulting an image so stunning like the painting that resulted in a new print release from Brendan Monroe (interviewed) & Mars-1. Ascender is now available on Monroe’s webstore, with the paper size at 33.7 x 24.5 inches & image size 31.3 x 22.5 inches. The print will be in a edition of 100, signed and numbered, and cost $225. Openings: Amy Sol – “Incantation” @ CHG Circa

Last month, AM stopped by the opening of Amy Sol’s (interviewed) solo show at CHG Circa entitled Incantation. As the name of the exhibition suggestions, many of the new paintings were thematically tied to the idea of magic. Last week, the MOCA in Los Angeles held a release party for OUTSIDE THE LINES: An Artists’ Coloring Book for Giant Imaginations, a publication curated by Souris Hong-Porretta (seen directly below). Many of the animators, cartoonists, fine artists, graphic artists, illustrators, musicians, outsider artists, photographers, street artists, and video game artists made it out to the event to interact with fans and sign copies. Streets: Kenny Scharf (Los Angeles) – Part II

Last month, we shared with you photos of a mural that Kenny Scharf (interviewed) painted in Los Angeles on the Davis Brothers’ Tire Pros building in Culver City. Recently, the New York street legend revisited the location and blessed the north wall of the structure with more of his signature imagery. As you can see in the photos above of the project (arranged by Branded Arts), he also posed one of the cars in front that he has been painting for his fans bi-coastally in an ongoing project.
