It’s always interesting to take a peek into the home of one of your favorite artists (also see the Rydens and Shepard Fairey), especially if they are collectors themselves. Tonight in Chelsea, the locally-based Matthew Palladino (interviewed) will be opening a new show at Garth Greenan Gallery. We last enjoyed his work in New York back in 2011, and fans who attended that showing and plan to be present tonight will see that his work has evolved since to include three-dimensional elements to his repertoire. Saturday afternoon in San Francisco, Eli Ridgway Gallery opened its doors to Matthew Palladino’s latest solo show entitled Sweet Relief (previewed). Palladino brought his usual color palette and thought-provoking narrative (often using using common objects & repetition), expanding it into a three-dimensional form by creating painted relief sculptures utilizing re-purposed chocolate molds.
