Showing: Okuda – “AsiAfricalism” @ Kallenbach gallery

From the 1st of April through the 1st of May, Okuda San Miguel will be showing his AsiAfricalism solo show at Kallenbach gallery in Amsterdam. Inspired by the exoticism of individuals that the Spanish artist has met during his journeys, unusual portraits mixed with his recognizable vibrant visual language dominate the showcase. AsiAfricalism includes one sculptural piece, series of four abstract works and five portraits packed with the patterns, bright colors and sharp shapes Okuda has been known for. By using geometry and playing with formats, the street artist creates surrealist imagery that […]

Streets: Okuda (Morocco)

After painting the impressive Kaos Temple few months ago in Spain (covered), Okuda San Miguel recently got an opportunity to paint another place of worship, with the result being pretty impressive. The allegedly cursed church aka Damned Church was converted by the collective Church Brigade into a Skate Church skate park three years ago. Impressed by the place and the entire atmosphere, Okuda decided to fill […]

Remed and Okuda recently got together for a joint project in Spain at the Campo Viejo vineyards. Along with a mural they worked on, the two Spanish artists also collaborated on several sculptures at the Logroño location including the sweet large scale piece seen above. As you will probably agree, the geometric styles of both local artists blended together nicely and judging from the statement below, they will be working on future endeavors together. “Campo Viejo proposed to Okuda and Remed to create a work […]
