Famously known as the youngest artist ever to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Life Adjustment Center (previewed) showcases in perfect detail the reasons for such an honor. Technical prowess, imaginative shot composing and a flair for the dramatic all work in concert to engage and entice the viewer, both in subdued monochromatics […]

Update: JR – “The Wrinkles of the City” (Shanghai Biennale)

It looks like JR’s latest project (through Galerie Magda Danysz) is underway in China as he starts his installs for “The Wrinkles of the City”. Showing: Irina Davis – “Nice Girls” @ Sputnik Gallery

The twist that got us is that Irina actually paints the faces and certain details with watercolor to give the realistic photos a touch of fantasy and character. Davis’ show […]

Fame Fest ’10: Slinkachu

Probably one of the last artists (see other artists here) to stop by Grottaglie before the Fame Festival opening next weekend is street miniature photographer Slinkachu. The London-based artist worked his magic with his street installations in the Italian town that would probably go unnoticed if you didn’t know where to look. Fortunately, he documents and photographs his clever works for all to enjoy. More pics after the jump…

The idea is to take works of other famous photographers and install them somewhere different and unexpected, allowing them to take new meaning when discovered by passerby’s. The project is co-produced by the Musée de l’Elysée and the Festival Images, with photographs taken from the collection of the museum and pasted up in the city of […]
