Tonight in Los Angeles at L.A. Louver, Gajin Fujita has put together a heavy lineup for a group show entitled Roll Call. Openings: Prime – “Not For Sale” @ Loft In Space

Hawaii-based graffiti writer Prime just had an opening entitled Not For Sale at Honolulu’s Loft In Space. You may remember his gorgeous peacock mural at this year’s Pow Wow back in February. This time, he exhibited a fresh set of large works including a crisply painted ride. As always Prime’s dope images aren’t just skin deep, his style masks a thoughtful view into the social and artistic lives on the islands of Hawaii. Outdoors: POW WOW ’11 – Walls & Luau

The POW WOW wasn’t only an indoor affair. Being in Hawaii, the gang took full advantage of all that the beautiful tropical atmosphere had to offer. An entire side of the building (across from Fresh Cafe) was secured for the artists who quickly put their street game facse on. Prime, Wu Yue, 123Klan, Will Barras, Meggs, and Ekundayo grabbed their spray cans to work under the Honolulu sky. The end product was dynamic murals created so that the local art fans could enjoy for years to come. […]

Openings: POW WOW ’11

The weeks of setup for the POW WOW ’11 in Honolulu culminated in blowout showcase bringing together talent from different parts of the world. People all over Hawaii came to take part in the celebration where performance, photography, graffiti, and fine art intersected.
