Releases: Jeremy Geddes – “Falling Echo” Print

On Sunday (April 21st), at 3pm Pacific Time, Jeremy Geddes (interviewed) will be releasing a new print based on his painting Falling Echo (detail shot above). If you remember, this was first introduced in his solo show in NY last year and features one of his iconic suspended astronauts. Tomorrow (April 5th) at 12 noon PST, Camille Rose Garcia (interviewed) will be releasing a new print entitled Sneewittchen. As the second in her series of mini-prints, this 10″ x 10″ edition limited to 50 is meant for collectors with a modest budget ($100). Brooklyn street duo Faile is releasing a new print today entitled Sweet Sins through a lottery system. The varied edition of 250 measureS 12.5 x 19 inches and have hand-painted touches, are stained, and have backs that are printed, stamped and embossed. Starting on March 7th at Noon (PST) for 24 hours, the newest timed release from Jeff Soto (interviewed) will be released from Prints On Wood. Again, the print will be sized at 6″ x 6″ and priced at $25 (with $1 from every print going to plantabillion.org to plant one tree). Upcoming: “Game of Thrones” Group Exhibition @ Mondo Gallery

During this year’s SXSW week, Mondo will be unveiling original art and limited editions inspired by the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. The group exhibition will include artists like Audrey Kawasaki, Chet Zar, Esao Andrews, Joao Ruas, Mia Araujo, Tom Bagshaw, Mike Mitchell (above), and Daniel Danger (who already designed posters for the show for last year’s SDCC). Back in November, French photograffeur JR headed to Japan and toured the disaster area, furthering his Inside Out project in the area – dedicated to the victims of the tsunami. If you remember, one of the most poignant images from that trip was the pasting of the eyes of a local fisherman on a boat that was stranded and abandoned as the water receded. Last month, there was a monstrous four alarm fire that raged thru a handful of apartments in Williamsburg Brooklyn. As many as 200 firefighters were dispatched to get the flames under control, with very little success. While many were displaced, a few of the residents of this devastating tragedy were artist Tara McPherson, Sean Leonard and their lovely newborn child Ronin.
