Releases: Kevin Cyr – “4 Queens” Print

Kevin Cyr recently released a print through Dynamo Editions entitled 4 Queens in a low edition of 25 featuring some of his signature distressed and graffiti covered vehicles. Interestingly enough as you can see from the photos below, the van started blank before the Brooklyn-based artist starts his hand embellishing process. The print is sized at 16 x 20″ and costs $375 here for those interested in adding it to their collection. Discuss Kevin Cyr here.

Releases: Dabs Myla x Vans Collection

Continuing their design work, Dabs Myla recently collaborated with Vans on a footwear and apparel collection for women featuring the duo’s imagery. Included in the set are the classic Sk8-Hi Sli, Authentic and Classic Slip-Ons shoes as well as a T-shirt, hoodie, tee dress, backpack, trucker hat, and canoodle socks. Releases: Franco “Jaz” Fasoli – “Untitled” Bronze Sculpture

Last month, Francisco “Jaz” Fasoli revealed the first piece in a series of upcoming bronze sculpture editions. Sculpted by the artist himself, the untitled sculpt was produced in Barcelona in a limited edition of only 8 pieces. Although well known for his large figurative murals depicting hybrid creatures, this is the first time the Argentina-born artist has created a 3D piece. On July 14th, Modernica will be releasing a daybed they designed with Cleon Peterson. Limited to an edition of 100, each one will be signed and numbered by the artist known for his brutal and provocative imagery. Jonathan LeVine Gallery just released a new print from AEC of Interesni Kazki (interviewed) entitled Falling In Love or Sixth Sense of Pedro. The image is taken from one of the paintings from their show at the gallery earlier this year (covered) and features the surrealistic imagery the duo are known for. Last week, KAWS announced his latest project, a collaboration with Nancy Gonzalez on a handbag collection. Continuing his foray into the fashion world (also see Uniqlo & Mira Mikati), the Brooklyn-based artist lent his iconic double x’s to the Colombian designer known for her handbags of exotic leathers and brightly colored hues. Releases: Eddie Martinez x Case Studyo – “Untitled” Handwoven Rug

Tomorrow at noon on their website, Case Studyo will be releasing a handwoven woolen rug based on one of Eddie Martinez’s paintings from 2015. Produced in an edition 12 + 4 AP, the tapestry is sized at 210 cm x 140 cm and comes with a signed and numbered certificate by the artist. In May, we shared with you the amazing takeover by JR (interviewed) at the famous Louvre in Paris where he pasted over the iconic pyramid using photographs of the surrounding structures. Looking at the right angle, it appeared that the pyramid in the main courtyard “disappears” from sight. Who better to collaborate with next in an inception-like project than with China’s disappearing man – Liu Bolin? Openings: KAWS – “BFF” @ Central Embassy (Bangkok)

A couple of days ago, Central Embassy in Bangkok unveiled the latest large-scale sculpture from KAWS, standing 8 meters tall outside their complex. Produced with the help of curator AllRightsReserved, the event also featured a plush version of the figure, which looked to be a cross between Elmo & The Cookie Monster, remixed the the Brooklyn-based artist’s double-x eyes and skull & cross bones. If you are a fan of Takashi Murakami and have visited Japan in the past, you may have made a stop at Bar Zingaro, the spirits section that connects his galleries in the Nakano Broadway mall in Tokyo. He now has his own line of sake to serve his customers with the recent release of a collaboration with NEXT5 Sake.
