Releases: Brendan Monroe x Mars1 – “Ascender” Print

Rarely has collaborations melded the styles of two artists resulting an image so stunning like the painting that resulted in a new print release from Brendan Monroe (interviewed) & Mars-1. Ascender is now available on Monroe’s webstore, with the paper size at 33.7 x 24.5 inches & image size 31.3 x 22.5 inches. The print will be in a edition of 100, signed and numbered, and cost $225. Our friends over at Toy Qube have been quietly working on a project that will bring to life a painting by Josh Keyes (interviewed). We finally got the go ahead to share some detailed images with you. Joining an impressive lineup of artists to have collaborated with TheSK8room on limited edition skateboard decks, Ai Weiwei has released three different versions recently. Featuring graphics and quotes form the Chinese contemporary artist, the three designs are limited to a run of 150 each and retail for € 300,00. Seen displayed in the company’s Brussels showroom above, the numbered skateboards (with printed signature) will be sold to partially support a good cause with 20% of all sales going towards Skateistan. Last week, the MOCA in Los Angeles held a release party for OUTSIDE THE LINES: An Artists’ Coloring Book for Giant Imaginations, a publication curated by Souris Hong-Porretta (seen directly below). Many of the animators, cartoonists, fine artists, graphic artists, illustrators, musicians, outsider artists, photographers, street artists, and video game artists made it out to the event to interact with fans and sign copies. Releases: Brett Amory – “Bleeker Bob’s (9pm-10pm)” Print

Tomorrow (Friday, September 20th) at 3pm PST, Spoke Art will be be releasing a new print from Brett Amory’s (featured) entitled Bleeker Bob’s (9pm-10pm). The signed and numbered edition of 100 will be sized at 26 x 26″ and cost $100. Of note, the first 20 copies of the run ($350) will be labeled HPM and will be personally hand embellished (of which you can see Amory in action in these photos we included). Case Studyo from Belgium just released another beautiful limited edition art object. After working with artists such as Todd James, Parra, Steve Powers, HuskMitNavn, Steven Harrington, etc, their newest release is LAMP that they produced in collaboration with Ed Templeton in a limited edition of only 100 pieces. On September 5th, Japanese artist Haroshi (featured) introduced his limited edition skateboard decks released through Japanese skateboarding company Uniful. Thug For Life in the Shibuya district of Tokyo was packed with people that were interested in this release that instantly became hit in Asia. Along with the signed and numbered decks, the artist introduced a new sculpture that was made especially for this event.
