On Friday, July 11, Bumblebeelovesyou releases his Mutual Feeling screen print, featuring a very popular image from his Bee Yourself exhibition. The 17″ x 23″ limited edition features hand-pulled silkscreen and also stenciled spray paint on Coventry Rag 290gsm and has hand-deckled edges. Eight years after comedy giant Dave Chapelle walked off the set of the third season the Chappelle’s Show and into the veil of private life, he made a triumphant return to the spotlight of the Big Apple at the historic Radio City Music Hall recently. Those who have been in the vinyl art toy game for a while will no doubt remember Joe Ledbetter’s original Fire-Cat figure, one of his iconic characters. The Los Angeles-based artist has now decided to release an updated version of the toy – producing, funding and designing this project himself. A few months after taking part in POW WOW Hawaii (covered) and putting on a solo show during Armory week in NYC (covered), Know Hope has finished another interesting project during his residency at Mission To Art in Turn, Italy. Last week, the Known Gallery featured the release party (with support from Hennessy) for a new line from Crooks & Castles designed by Futura. Entitled LEWDS, the collection (which can be seen in more detail here) featured the familiar text and atom motif from the NYC graffiti legend while paying homage to Christopher “Lewds” Natalio, the late Marketing Director of the streetwear brand. Faith47 is self releasing a collectible series of intimate books and screen prints. The first set is scheduled to be available for the solstice on 21st of June at via her new online store. The The Hidden Years zine is the first of the series, signed and numbered in an edition of 100, and includes a compilation of sketches from 2013 & 2014. During the craziness that was Art Basel Hong Kong, one of the events we attended was How & Nosm’s debut & celebration of their Sake Art Bottle at HK’s Yardbird as well as the unveiling of two site specific murals. As previewed, this unique collaboration project fused the restaurant’s artist sake line with the iconic color & styling of the German born twins. On the afternoon of Saturday, May 31, FriendsWithYou celebrated the release of their We Are FriendsWithYou book, published by Rizzoli. Jeremy Geddes (interviewed) recently announced the lottery for his newest print release set to drop next week. Entitled Ascent, the latest limited edition from the Australian artist will feature an image sized at 56cm wide and 56cm high (paper size 61cm x 64m). Highlighting one of Geddes’ most popular reoccurring characters, the gravity defying astronaut can be yours for $235 AUD if you are lucky and will come in a run of 250.
