Releases: Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton – “Infinitely Kusama”

Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama’s collaboration with French fashion house Louis Vuitton was recently revealed in a series of photographs. Entitled Infinitely Kusama, the line will feature her signature dots & color motif covering garments, bags, jewelry and shoes. Scheduled for a July 10th release, devoted fans can do some shopping before heading to her retrospective at the Whitney Museum which opens two days later on July 12th. Releases: James Jean – “Nervosa” Print

James Jean (featured), who will be showing in our City of Fire show next week, has just released a beautiful new print on his webstore at OVM entitled Nervosa. Reproduced from one of his delicate and intricate drawings, the edition is limited to 100 and costs $75. After showing across the pond last year in London, Evan Hecox will returning to the states for his latest solo at the Joshua Liner Gallery, site of his last New York exhibition in 2009. On June 7th, Kidrobot will be releasing (in-store and online) a new figure from Dutch artist Parra entitled Pierced. The 10-inch vinyl sculpture is inspired by the melodramatic cover art of romance novels and based on imagery from his original silkscreen artwork. The entwined figures which demonstrate the simultaneous pain and pleasure that many experience while in love will set collectors back $150 and will be limited to an edition of 300. Via mashKULTURE.

Dedicated to making his art accessible to all his fans regardless of their economic status, SABER (interviewed) has just released a set of flag lino prints priced affordably on his webstore. Available in red, green, and blue, the 6″ x 8″ editions are limited to 50 each and despite their price ($85), each hand finished. Aaron Horkey fans out there, tomorrow will be your next chance to get ahold of one of his works, albeit a limited edition. His Andrew Bird screenprint will be available at Friday, May 18th at “around” 2pm Central Time at Postersandtoys. Although the attention of KAWS fans is focused on Asia right now as the NY-based artist has landed in Hong Kong in preparation for his solo at Galerie Perrotin on the 15th, they are reminded that he still has a ongoing exhibition at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta (covered). The museum will be releasing today PAPER SMILE, a 25″ x 20″ screenprint in an edition of 100. For those interested and have $1400 to spend, you should contact the museum before it sells out. […]

At a random time today, Mondo will be releasing a new Avengers poster from Tyler Stout on their website. Coinciding with the opening of the movie that brings together some of Marvel’s most iconic superheroes, the new image features representation of the entire team as well as the villain Loki.
