Currently on view at Joseph Gross Gallery in Chelsea, NY is Refuge, a solo exhibition featuring thirteen works by Peter Gronquist. The show includes all-new pieces that combine creative uses of material, such as LED lights, shaped frames, and silk flowers, with traditional painting techniques. The pieces interact with the viewer both spatially, with paintings that appear to be falling on top as they look up, such as with Master Cleanse, and visually, with its pleasant rich blue gradient. Showing: Boris “Delta” Tellegan @ Rose Beton Festival

With the focus of the Rose Beton Festival in Toulouse this year on graffiti, artists Craig Costello, Futura, Mist, Tilt, and Boris Tellegen were asked to create installations at the Musee des Abattoirs in an exhibition entitled EPOXY. For his part, Tellegen (otherwise known as DELTA), contributed a sculpture, small painting and associated wall mural for the event. The highlight of course was the robot like sculpture, created in the architecturally-informed abstract style the Dutch artist perfected on the streets of Amsterdam. Along with peeks at the new 8 meter tall sculpture from KAWS to be unveiled soon in Thailand, fans of the Brooklyn-based artist are also excited to see a new product line release. The project at Central Embassy in Bangkok, produced with the help of curator AllRightsReserved, will feature a new character called BFF that looks to be a mix between Elmo and the Cookie Monster with the artist’s distinctive double X’s for eyes. Victoria Miro in London is currently hosting a new exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Yayoi Kusama. Spanning the gallery’s three locations and waterside garden, the exhibition features new paintings, pumpkin sculptures, and immersive room experiences, all made especially for this showing.
