Album Covers: Jeff Koons x Lady Gaga – “ARTPOP”

Yesterday, Lady Gaga revealed the cover for her upcoming album ARTPOP featuring the work of Jeff Koons. Openings: Lawrence Epps – ‘Take Stock’ @ The British Ceramics Biennial, Stoke

The 2013 British Ceramics Biennial which opened in Stoke-on-Trent on 28 September, celebrates the best in contemporary ceramics through a six-week programme of exhibitions, installations and events. One of the installations, Take Stock by Lawrence Epps, has been created from 12,000 ceramic office workers, which visitors to the biennial will be invited to take away with them. Videos: Yoskay Yamamoto – “Submerged”

On September 27th, Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed) will be unveiling new sculptural installations in Hong Kong’s Time Square. Presented by LeBasse Projects, the large heads (see below) that look like the ones often seen in the LA-based artist’s work will be interacting with passer-bys in one of the busiest areas in Causeway Bay. Korean artist Yu Jinyoung (interviewed) recently opened her first solo show in Italy at Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan. Openings: Ludo – “Destructionis Hostis Vespa” @ White Walls

Last weekend, White Walls in San Francisco hosted the opening for Ludo’s (interviewed) new solo show. Entitled Destructionis Hostis Vespa, the exhibition is named for a creature from the Parisian street artist’s Nature’s Revenge series or works – a cross between a combat airplane and a wasp. Displayed in sculptural form as well as with paintings from multiple angles, blue prints if you will, the entire show was able to present a cohesive feel to it and also gave striking examples of Ludo’s work. Nuart ’13: Part VI – Group Exhibition

Along with the plethora of murals painted for this year’s Nuart Festival (see previous years), the artists involved also put together a group exhibition indoors as well. David Choe, C215, Martin Whatson, Hush, Ernest Zacharevic, Dal East, Faith47, Martha Cooper, Aiko and others all created works in their own recognizable style. Openings: “The Baxter Collection” @ Roq La Rue

Roq La Rue changed it up for this month’s opening. The works on display are from the personal collection of the Baxter family, who are selling some of their collection to move overseas.
