Last week Julia Chiang opened her latest show in New York’s Half Gallery. This exhibition Security Is Mostly A Superstition featured a room size installation of hand crafted ceramic white chains measuring in length from five to thirty feet. It looks like last month’s opening of Adam Wallacavage’s (interviewed) show at Corey Helford Gallery attracted many of the city’s artistic community. Obviously enamored by his chandeliers, lamps, and other adventurous lighting options, the audience packed into the Culver City show space to take in his and Henry Lewis‘ new body of work. It looks like Boris Tellegen aka Delta has decided to go big since we last saw his work at the Elms Lester show in 2009. These new large-scale floating sculptural works from the Dutch artist are currently on display at Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw Concert Hall and are collectively entitled Subduction Zones, placed to welcome the World Minimal Music Festival. AM recently had the opportunity to go visit Polly Morgan in her East London studio. We anticipated what we might see. AM attended the private opening for Colin and Sas Christian’s (interviewed) latest show Sas + Colin at New York’s Opera Gallery. As the title states, the main focus was the wife and husband collaborations which brought their unique talents together for a visually stunning exhibition. Sas utilized her hyper realistic painting styles to bring the futuristic subjects to life, while Colin brought the physical presence with his beautifully detailed fiberglass sculptures.
