Streets: Yoskay Yamamoto (Los Angeles) Part I

Something that has come up in conversations the last several times we have seen Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed) has been his desire to take his artistic vision to the next level with a large-scale mural. With his latest solo show (covered) successfully opened, it looks like the LA-based artist has taken the opportunity to go big at the Branded Arts complex in Culver City with the support of LeBasse Projects. His wall is sandwiched between work by Dabs Myla & Cyrcle. and features his painterly techniques as […]

Streets: M-City (Germany)

The Polish street artist known as M-City recently left his mark in the German city of Neuss for Fest-architektur. While he is known for his industrial, mechanical, and architectural inspired imagery, this newest mural features the addition of some aquatic elements making for an interesting juxtaposition. A closer look after the jump…

Streets: Blu (Morocco)

We haven’t heard much recently from Italian street muralist Blu since his series of works in Buenos Aires earlier this year (here, here & here), but with his penchant for traveling and big walls, you know it was only a matter of time before his distinct imagery showed up somewhere in the world. This newest piece has been completed in Morocco near the border fences that are the separation barriers between the North Africa country and the Spanish city of Melilla. As this area is has been the site […]

Streets: David Shrigley – “How Are You Feeling?” (New York)

David Shrigley, who is currently putting on a retrospective at the Hayward Gallery in the UK, has also found time to design a new billboard next to the The High Line in New York. The piece which will remain in place through May 7th features self-reflective speech bubbles and is entitled How Are You Feeling? If you remember, John Baldessari also hit up the spot, sits alongside the elevated park at 18th Street and Tenth Avenue, back in December with his $100,000 bill. A closer look […]

Streets: Phlegm (Isle of Man)

Street muralist Phlegm recently came across an abandoned pool on the Isle of Man and immediately knew what to do. Befitting the location next to the sea and true to his longstanding love affair with marine imagery, the Sheffield-based artist painted a large sea creature with one of his signature characters in tow. Adding an added layer of complexity was the background filled with years of graf work. More photos after the jump…

Streets: D*Face (New York)

In March, D*Face (interviewed) paid a visit to New York City for a little Armory Week action. Not only did he hit up the Scope Art Fair (more on that later), he also left his mark on the streets by hand painting murals in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. Despite freezing temperatures, D worked the bricks with new imagery to delight the senses in both SOHO & Williamsburg. AM’s Joe Russo was on the scene to catch the action, check it out after the jump.

Streets: Nick Walker (Paris) Part II

After hitting up Paris with some street work (covered) back in February, Nick Walker (interviewed) has return for more. One of the walls (seen above) he painted was a mirror image of the piece he submitted for the Fifty Fifty group show that opened last week at Parisian showspace Mathgoth Galerie. Take a look at another piece from the Bristol-based artist after the jump…  As a bonus, we added another collaborative piece he painted with SheOne from his last trip there as well.
