Streets: Roa in New York

The unstoppable Roa has been painting up the Big Apple while he was in town for his show at Factory Fresh. We just recently saw pics of this completed piece, a perfect example of his anatomical street pieces, and wanted to share it with our readers.Take a more detailed look at how textured the surface was that the the mural was painted on after the jump…

Streets: Os Gemeos & Blu (Lisbon)

Since Os Gemeos was in town for their exhibition (covered) at the Lisbon’s Museu Colecção Berardo, it was a foregone conclusion that they would leave their mark inside and out. Here you can see them teaming up with another high-flying street act, the prolific Blu from Italy. Hopefully we’ll see more photos of the completed piece soon… Discuss Os Gemeos here. Discuss Blu here.

Streets: Ron English – “Badvertisements” @ Welling Court Mural Project

Our friend Ron English just sent us some images from his latest endeavor at the Welling Court Mural Project. Utilizing his classic sarcastic wit, he answers the question “does advertising work on me?” with a series of acerbic yet hilarious ads. There are plenty of other artist involved with the project in Queens such as Chris Stain, Dan Witz, Michael De Feo, Swoon, Gaia, Ellis G., Remi/Rough, Tristan Eaton, Sweet Toof among many others with the opening tomorrow, Saturday, May 22nd from 4-10PM. More pics and […]

Streets: Greg Simkins, Dabs & Myla and Jersey Joe Mural @ Static Medium

Yesterday, we tagged along with Greg “Craola” Simkins (featured), Dabs & Myla and Jersey Joe to watch them create a fresh mural christening the new location of Los Angeles print studio Static Medium. From 8am to the late afternoon, the artists took on the blazing sun with tons of spray cans using their crazy nozzle skills. They even got some love from the locals as they worked this urban beautification project. More pics after the jump…

Streets: Banksy in NY (Part II)

As we suspected after seeing the first couple pieces from Banksy in NY, he wasn’t done with the Big Apple yet. Looks like several other pieces have popped up in various locales such as Soho and Chinatown, although you’ll have to be quick if you want to see these in person as haters have been defacing them almost immediately. More images after the jump…

Streets: Conor Harrington & Know Hope in Israel

So it turns out the mural we got a hint of earlier from Conor Harrington (interviewed) was in Israel. Looks like he teamed up with Know Hope to put up some pretty sick pieces. And it looks like he’s not done yet as he looks to tackle the Israel-Palestine wall. More pics after the jump…

Streets: Banksy in NY

After a whirlwind tour (summarized here) of North America to promote his film, Banksy has finally reached the one city that has been conspicuously missing from his itinerary – New York, the so-called birthplace of modern graffiti. Strange that the visit does not coincide with the actual movie premiere in NY several weeks ago, but with two stencils that have been discovered so far, there are bound to be more so stay tuned. The one above is a clever variant of the piece Mr. B […]

Update: Gaia

Haven’t heard from Gaia in while ever since hanging out a little at Art Basel Miami last year, but it looks like he’s participating in two shows in the next couple weeks. First up is a solo at Gallery Heist opening tomorrow night in SF (of which there are some preview pics after the jump). Then, on May 23rd, he’ll be part of the Axis Alley Project in Baltimore for which he put up this sick mural of his “Deny Him Three Times” image – it blends […]

Streets: Banksy in Boston

If we were privy to Banksy’s flight itinerary the last several months, this is what we might have seen: UK – Utah – UK -> LA -> SF -> Chicago -> Detroit -> Toronto -> Boston or some combination thereof (strange that he skipped NY). How do we know? Well, he leaves a trail of stencils (of course, we will never know for sure unless they are confirmed). Some of readers may have had Banksy overload ever since his documentary came out at Sundance, but […]

Streets: Banksy hits up Seattle, Detroit, Chicago, and Toronto?

After throwing the best premiere party for his documentary in Los Angeles and gifting San Francisco with the most street pieces, Banksy appears to have been taking a whirlwind tour of other major North American cities. Either he’s been racking up some pretty major frequent fliers mileage or he has a crew out assisting him (or there are some copycats out there). The only way to know for sure if these are real is to keep checking the outdoors section on Banksy’s website for updates […]
