Streets: Asphalte Festival (Belgium)

The city of Charleroi in Belgium was the host for the first edition of the Asphalte Urban Art Biennial. Taking place from the beginning of May till the end of October, this event includes theatrical programming, dance and academic programs, concerts, as well as urban and street art projects. Streets: Etam Cru (Italy)

Sainer & Bezt, the only two members of the Etam Cru, recently visited Italy right after opening their solo show in Barcelona (covered). The Polish art duo stopped in Gaeta, where they created this large mural for the ongoing Memorie Urbane festival. We recently brought you a look at artists at work on the Urban Nation’s Project M/4 in Berlin, curated by Thinkspace. Streets: DALeast (Belgium)

DALeast has been having a quiet year focusing more on his studio work, traveling less and doing less street works. But recently, he took part in the Day One Festival in Roeselare, Belgium, organized by Street Art Belgium, by creating this massive piece on the docks. The Chinese-born artist painted this large image showing six human figures moving a large mountain. Streets: COPE2 – Bowery & Houston Mural

Last week, the iconic corner of Bowery & Houston in New York saw a new mural take shape as COPE2 took over the location. Featuring his well known bubble tags and associated graf elements, the wall was soon filled with letterings from the NYC writer on a richly textured background. POW! WOW! Hawaii Sacred Canoe Hokulea Project

Right after setting up the Taiwan event (introduced), the POW! WOW! Hawaii family got back to work taking part in an interesting project with The Polynesian Voyaging Society in Honolulu. What they put together was focused on the sacred canoe Hokulea on which legendary lifeguard and surfer Eddie Aikau lost his life while trying to get help for his friends between the Hawaiian and Tahitian island chains. Legendary street artist Space Invader is back in Tokyo where he is preparing for the Japanese premiere of his ART4SPACE movie (covered), in collaboration with Target Gallery. Streets: Phlegm (New Zealand)

After building up and later destroying his first ever gallery show in London (covered), Phlegm took of on a another world trip for a couple of months focusing on what he loves the most – painting large murals. Openings: Da Mental Vaporz – “The Wall” @ BC Gallery

French art collective and graffiti crew, Da Mental Vaporz aka DMV recently opened their show on the 26th of May at BC Gallery.
