Fresh off the clamoring success of Sanrio’s 50th Anniversary bash in Southern California, Small Gift Los Angeles (covered), the art exhibition and pop-up store tag team celebration will be traveling down to South Beach next week to coincide with Art Basel Miami Beach. As the cornerstone of the touring event, 50 internationally-recognized artists were selected by curator R. We recently showed you images of Shepard Fairey down in Miami installing his mural inside this year’s Wynwood Walls cafe (covered). Some weeks back, AM spent time with Ernesto Yerena Montejano at his garage studio in Los Angeles. Over the course of three and a half years, until summer 2009, Yerena worked as an artist assistant for Shepard Fairey at both Studio Number One and Studio Number Two (featured).
