Shepard Fairey’s new print made especially for Barack Obama’s inauguration is now available from the Inaugural Store. There are two versions unsigned for $100 (24 x 36″ numbered 1001-9999 with 8500 available), signed for $500 (24 x 36″ limited to 1000 with 750 available). Discuss Shepard Fairey here.

On Friday, December 19th, TIME Magazine will release its “Person of the Year” issue. The winner… President Elect Barack Obama. He will get the cover of the magazine of course, but what image/photograph did Time use? Already revved up from the Gen Art VanguardÂ Gala (Here)… Friday night got even more crazy as DJ Diabetic and Ztrip tag teamed the turntables for a packed Shore Club in South Beach. Shepard gave back in his usual gracious fashion as he threw a party for all his friends and fans. AM stopped by to visit Jonathan Levine, who was on hand to showcase Shepard Fairey’s work at Scope. Shepard created some gigantic murals to go along with the exclusive stencil works on paper and record albums. Unlike most Shepard Fairey shows where the buyers names are put on a list for a chance to purchase art, Levine made these works available only to the people who attended the show and on a first come-first serve basis. After not participating in art fairs for a while, gallerist Jonathan LeVine decided to double-down this year by showing in not one, but two Miami fairs. At Scope Miami, LeVine will be exhibiting a solo show by GQ Artist of the Year, Shepard Fairey. Coming off her recent sellout show at Ad Hoc Art in Brooklyn (here)’ Michelle “MIA” Araujo has put together a fresh group of paintings for the upcoming “Illuminate” at Corey Helford. Illuminate is a group show where MIA will showcase her beautifully illustrated works along side Robert Bellm and Angelique Huotkamp. Unlike most shows, this one’s a quick 1 week drive-by! This past Saturday night, Subliminal Projects was decked out in the typographical patterns of House Industries. The Delaware based group showcased a new collection of prints and patterns and transformed the gallery into a graphical delight that showcased just what some simple fonts can do. Shepard Fairey announced that in celebration of Obama’s presidential victory, a special limited print will be released through MoveON.org tomorrow. With all proceeds going to MoveOn – an organization which aims to bring real Americans back into the political process.Â The release will be on Nov. 7th at 9:30AM PST (12:30PM PST) via MoveOn.org HERE.Â This print will be an unsigned edition numbered up to 5000.
