After showing at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center (covered), El Mac: Aerosol Exalted will be moving to the Main Gallery of the Mesa Arts Center where it will open for public on May 13th. Sotheby’s contemporary art gallery in London S|2 is currently housing an exhibition (running until May 27th) of new works by Charming Baker (covered) entitled Sweet Nothing. The solo includes canvases, a series of studies on paper, and large scale drawings. On May 12th, Castor Gallery in NYC will be opening an exhibition of paintings and charcoal drawings by Kepa Garraza. The show titled Riot is inspired by civil unrest, uprising and rebellion. Divided in two parts, the Bilbao-based artist’S NYC debut consists of six charcoal drawings showing masked anarchistic protestors and six oil paintings depicting the aftermath of vandalism at galleries and art institutions. Upcoming: Hush – “Allure” @ Corey Helford Gallery

The next artist to show at Corey Helford Gallery’s new space in downtown LA is British street artist Hush (interviewed). Known for his East meets West style mixed with some stylistic cues from the street, the man who hails from Newcastle will be opening his show entitled Allure on May 28th. For his third solo with Richard Heller Gallery, Paco Pomet will be presenting some Recent Paintings that continue his now well known modus operandi. The Granada-based artist creates works of art that look like loosely rendered vintage photos and landscapes that have unusual color accents or delightful surreal elements that can be seen when examined more closely.
