Streets / Recap: The Crystal Ship (Belgium)

From the 26th of March until the 10th of April, the Belgian coastal city of Ostend hosted The Crystal Ship festival on its streets. Better known for their beer festival, the town instead gifted their public space to world-renowned artists to create works through the city. Previews: DMV – ‘Residence’ @ Villa Alliv

On Saturday, the 30th of April, Villa Alliv in Marseille, France will open its doors for a new exhibition entitled Residence. JAW, KAN and BLO, members of the Da Mental Vaporz crew have transformed the space following a two week residency. The new body of work is a the result of collaborations between the artists, carried out in situ. Under impulse and improvisation, they bring their instinctive and distinctive methods together – street pointillism (KAN), abstraction (BLO) and image destructuring (JAW) – to create surrealist compositions.

Streets: 1010 // The Crystal Ship (Belgium)

After a look at what ROA painted for the Crystal Ship Festival on the streets of Ostend, we now can share some photos of 1010 at work for the event. The German artist painted his signature patterns on these side of a structure, providing a striking contrast to the drab building with this optical illusion. Showing: “City Lights” @ Millennium Iconoclast Museum of Art

Although the opening was delayed due to the terrible recent events in Brussels, City Lights at the newly formed Millennium Iconoclast Museum of Art ended up kicking off successfully earlier this month.
