Previews – Quam Odunsi – “HOLLYWOOD” – The Art Of Elysium

Curated by one of our own here at AM, Khoi Nguyen, a one-night only exhibition from photographer Quam Odunsi will open on March 31st in Los Angeles (3278 Wilshire Blvd). Entitled Hollywood, the show is presented by The Art of Elysium with proceeds to benefit the nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of artists and critically ill children. Preview: “Cat Art Show 2” @ Think Tank Gallery

From March 24-27, shortly after closing their cake-themed installation and special programing (covered), Think Tank Gallery in Los Angeles will be hosting the sequel group exhibition to 2014’s Cat Art Show. Over 70 artists including Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, C215, Adam Wallacavage, Tim Biskup, Kozyndan, Luke Chueh, Brandi Milne, Natalia Fabia, Travis Lampe, Cyrcle., Jean Pierre Arboleda (seen above) and Edwin Ushiro will be contributing pieces inspired by their feline friends. Victori + Mo gallery in New York is currently showing Chaos and Wild Again by local artist Brian Willmont. Opening last week, Camille Rose Garcia’s Animus Chrysalis Mortis takes viewers to vibrant and lush gardens while exploring many of life’s tropes including creation and death. There is no subtlety with the LA-based artist’s journey, as seen through the lens of an acid trip seemingly lit by black lights. The exhibition features mixed media paintings on board and smaller pieces on paper. Last month Slow Culture moved from LA’s Highland Park to Chinatown, and on March 4th, they opened the PDFW: Performance. Drawing. Film. Previews: Will Cotton @ Orlando Museum of Art

This Saturday, March 12th, the Orlando Museum of Art will be opening a show featuring the sugary work of Will Cotton. The exhibition from the American painter known for his subjects adorned with desserts will feature oil paintings, preparatory drawings and sculptures revealing different stages of his creative process. Previews: Mode 2 – “Transitions” @ Galleria Patricia Armocida

Starting March 10th and until May 7th, Galleria Patricia Armocida will be showing Transitions, an exhibition by Mode 2 (interviewed). Coming back to Italy after taking part in Bridges of Graffiti collateral event of the 56th International Venice Biennale Arte (covered), this is the British artist’s first solo show in the country. For this showing, the internationally acclaimed artist will present twelve large and medium-scale canvases and a site-specific wall painting featuring his refined technique and translucent brush strokes. Openings: Kai & Sunny – “Whirlwind Of Time” @ StolenSpace

Last weekend, StolenSpace hosted the opening of Kai & Sunny’s (interviewed) latest solo show – Whirlwind Of Time. Their fourth showing with the gallery in London featured a series of vibrant and complex drawings of nature using their signature ballpoint pens and linear patterns.
