Streets: REVOK x ROID (London)

Two gifted graffiti artists and MSK brothers, REVOK and ROID recently collaborated on this piece in East London. If you recall, they recently opened a show together in Los Angeles (covered), as well as joined forces (along with RIME) for another piece in Detroit. As before, you can see that the raw forms of REVOK and the geometric lines of ROID always seem to combine well. Closer looks after the jump…

Showing: Patrick Martinez – “Reel Tawlk” @ Loft In Space

Earlier this month, our friends at Loft in Space featured the paintings and fabricated neon work of Patrick Martinez in a solo show entitled Reel Tawlk. The show focuses on the current state of affairs in America – for example Blue Without Green neon piece draws from the current “Occupy Movement” and speaks towards the sentiment of “melancholy without money.” More photos of the opening in Hawaii from Brandon Shigeta after the jump…

Basel Week Miami ’11: Corey Helford Gallery @ Scope

Another booth we took time to enjoy at Scope art fair was Los Angeles’ Corey Helford Gallery. Their enormous booth showcased a spectrum of artwork their diverse and interesting roster. We were shown fresh works from Ron English, Ray Ceasar, D*Face, Nick Walker, RISK, HUSH, Silvia Ji, Amy Sol, Meggs, just to name a few. CHG took full advantage of the Basel Week traffic to spotlight the coming year for the audiences that stopped by this packed booth. More after the jump.

Streets: Risky (Los Angeles) Part I

Coming off an incredible mural unveiled during Miami’s 2011 Art Basel week (coverage), MSK/AWR and 7th Letter graffiti writer Risky is back to conquer yet another large scale mural. This time however he’s working in his backyard of Los Angeles where he is currently painting a wall measuring 120 feet wide and about 60 feet tall. Set up by L.A. Streets: Blu (Buenos Aires) Part II

After bringing you photos a new political and provocative mural form Blu about a week ago, here is another set of pics of another mural painted by the Italian street savant in Buenos Aires. This time around, the piece on the side of a building depicts an an image of the globe slowing disintegrating like a jigsaw puzzle with the pieces being interconnecting humans. Showing: Swoon – “Murmuration” @ Black Rat Projects

Earlier this month, Swoon’s (interviewed) first London solo exhibition opened up at the Black Rat Projects. She has spent three long weeks transforming the gallery space with sculptural paper installations that she collectively entitled Mumuration. The project utilized imagery from much of her previous work including her Art in the Streets install at the MOCA, Thalassa at the NOMA, Anthropocene Extinction at the Boston (ICA). WK Interact for Wired Magazine

Last week we shared with you some hardcore works that WK Interact put up in Paris in conjunction with the “Occupy Movements” occurring around the globe. Now we can show you the “would have been” cover for this month’s Wired Magazine. Studio Visit / Streets: Tilt

AM was fortunate to visit French graffiti artist TILT in his studio in Toulouse as he prepared for multiple shows in London at POW, Singapore and Manila, and to follow him across the streets. When not painting graffiti on naked “bubble girls” across the world, the self declared “graffiti fetichist” leverages his fun and colourful bubble letters to represent iconic portraits, shoes and flags.
