Recap: David Choe // Igloo Hong (Morocco) – Part II

After a first look at the latest Igloo Hong funded project from David Choe (featured) in Morocco, we now have some more photos to share with you from the the trip. Granted creative freedom, El Mac, Andrew Hem, Mars-1, Aaron Horkey, and DVS-1 all did their best work getting up on whatever walls they could find, whether it be solo or with a collaborative effort. Dave Kinsey Studio Sale

Every once in a while, an artist will put on a studio sale to give fans a chance to add prints, originals, and other related paraphernalia at a reasonable price. This weekend, it was Dave Kinsey’s turn to offer up some items for in a fires sale ranging from pieces canvas and paper. Take a look at the selection here (through today) and see if there is anything you would like to buy.

Previews: “El Mac: Aerosol Exalted” @ Mesa Arts Center

After showing at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center (covered), El Mac: Aerosol Exalted will be moving to the Main Gallery of the Mesa Arts Center where it will open for public on May 13th. The exhibition was announced with a large 35-foot tall mural few weeks ago (covered), and it presents El Mac’s latest body of work, including large collaborative canvases with RETNA. Streets: D*Face // The L.I.S.A Project (New York)

For a recent mural in Manhattan, D*Face (interviewed) decided to go with one of his iconic Lichtenstein-inspired women holding two of his signature D-dogs. Sponsored by The L.I.S.A Project, the piece span several stories high in Soho while leaving some existing graffiti that the British artist remember from 20 year’s past. Streets: Sepe – “Selfie in the Circus” (Poland)

Recently at an abandoned structure in Poland, Sepe painted a new mural entitled Selfie in the Circus. The piece is dedicated to an upcoming show of the same title at Soon Gallery in Zurich scheduled to open on May 19th. Created in the same color palette as many of the originals in his new body of work, the wall features a circle of pointing individuals surrounding a single figure, continuing the Warsaw-based artist’s commentary on society.

Upcoming: Hush – “Allure” @ Corey Helford Gallery

The next artist to show at Corey Helford Gallery’s new space in downtown LA is British street artist Hush (interviewed). Known for his East meets West style mixed with some stylistic cues from the street, the man who hails from Newcastle will be opening his show entitled Allure on May 28th. Look for 24 new mixed media paintings as well as probably some limited editions when the fresh body of work is revealed. Discuss Hush here.

Previews: Dran – “Tiens” @ Adda Gallery

On June 11th, Adda Gallery in Brussels will be opening a solo show by the Dran. Famous as one of the founding members of Da Mental Vaporz crew as well as for his satirical drawings and paintings, the French artist’s exhibition will be entitled Tiens. His first public showing since last year’s performance art project Public Execution at POW in London (covered) will feature the his latest paintings and unpublished drawings from 2015 to 2016. Streets: Ericailcane (Mexico)

While in town for his current solo show in Mexico City at Fifty24MX, Ericailcane found time to make his mark on the urban environment. Painted in his recognizable illustrative style, the new mural from the Italian artist features a fox and a rabbit entwined in branches. Cleverly utilizing the architectural connecting structures between his two anthropomorphic animal subjects, he shows once again why he’s considered one of the most skilled street artists out there today.
