Coinciding with London Fashion Week 2018, Superflat master Japanese artist Takashi Murakami continued his collaboration (covered) with American creative designer Virgil Abloh and presented a series of joint works entitled Future History at the Gagosian Gallery in London. The exhibition runs until April 7th and features large-scale paintings, sculptures and an installation drawing references to Abloh’s signature Off-White motifs alongside Murakami’s iconic cast of anime characters, reflecting incisively on the signs of the current times. This past weekend, our friends at Complex held their first ever “pop culture world fair” in Los Angeles and it was pretty spectacular. Three months since its debut at the Seattle Art Fair (covered), the Juxtapoz x Superflat group show co-curated by Juxtapoz editor, Evan Pricco and Takashi Murakami opened on the November 5th at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Staying on view until February 5th, the programming included a mixture of talks, lectures, tours, and special guests.
