Last week in Bangkok, Felipe Pantone unveiled an immersive installation at the Siam Center entitled W3-DIMENSIONAL Park. For his first showing in Thailand, the Argentinian-Spanish artist created a sculptural representation of his special form of glitch effects and optical art that transports viewers into the digital world. The title of the piece references the three dimensional aspect of the World Wide Web (divs, tables, and iframes) and includes four original pieces that are part of some recent projects. Openings: KAWS – “BFF” @ Central Embassy (Bangkok)

A couple of days ago, Central Embassy in Bangkok unveiled the latest large-scale sculpture from KAWS, standing 8 meters tall outside their complex. Produced with the help of curator AllRightsReserved, the event also featured a plush version of the figure, which looked to be a cross between Elmo & The Cookie Monster, remixed the the Brooklyn-based artist’s double-x eyes and skull & cross bones. Streets: Nychos (Bangkok)

After a look earlier this week at what ROA painted for the BUKRUK Urban Arts Festival in Thailand, here now is a look at Nychos’ contribution. Taking inspiration from the Bangkok heat, the Austrian street artist painted a rubber ducky on meltdown, of course with the insides revealed with his usual aesthetic. Currently in Bangkok, the BUKRUK Urban Arts Festival has seen a steady stream of street artists arrive to leave their mark on the capital city. One of these is ROA, who is painting across the way from Aryz (more on his mural later), and with his usual practice, choosing to use local creatures as his inspiration. We just received another series of works that Ludo (interviewed) created around Bangkok before leaving the city and continuing on his Asian tour.
