Streets: T&J Art Walk (Oslo) Part III

It’s time to summarize the remaining murals for the T&J Art Walk now after bringing you the walls from Faile, Shepard Fairey, D*Face, and Logan Hicks previously. The other artists involved include The London Police, who threw up the sick piece above, as well as Will Barras, Fenx, Martin Whatson, and Gallo. Keep in mind, the reason behind this event in Oslo was to support of the Human Rights Watch (HRW) and to honor those slain and injured of the terror attack of July 22. We’ll also be bringing you […]

Openings: StolenSpace Summer Group Show

AM got to the opening of StolenSpace’s annual Summer Group Show last week to find a line of people queuing out of the door! A packed house came out to see what we found to be a very strong grouping of work from an interesting mix of artists, some old StolenSpace favorites, but a lot fresh names – some new to the gallery, and some new to the London scene. Chloe Early is one of our favorite painters from the StolenSpace roster, and her new […]

Preview: “Summer Group Show” @ StolenSpace Gallery

StolenSpace Gallery in London is hosting their annual summer group show tonight. As usual, the roster features some stalwarts from their stable of artists as well as mixing in some new talent. One of the pieces we look forward to checking out ourselves is “Rocketeers” from Chloe Early (interviewed). If this incredible painting is any indication, we are in for a treat when her next solo opens in October at the Corey Helford Gallery. More selected preview images from the group show which also includes […]

Preview: London Police – “Fresh Geezers” @ Factory Fresh

The London Police, whom we met in LA recently, will be opening up a new show tonight – this time in New York. Entitled “Fresh Geezers,” the dual show at Factory Fresh will also feature Italian artist Galo. The recent documentary film “Brothers in Arms” filmed in LA where best friends Bob & Chaz (TLP) decided to handcuff themselves together for 24 hours a day (a social experiment of friendship versus personal space) will be playing for attendees to enjoy. More images after the jump.

Openings: Green Day – “The Art of Rock” @ StolenSpace

AM just got back from the opening of Green Day’s “The Art of Rock” show at London’s StolenSpace gallery (previewed), the night before the band starts a run of sold out dates on the UK leg of the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. Logan Hicks (interviewed) curated the group show, which consisted of 18 pieces of art inspired by the lyrics of the new album. The participating artists were M-City (Mariusz Waras), Meggs, Peat Wollaeger, Pisa73, Ron English (featured), Sadhu, Sixten, The London Police, Will Barras, Adam (5100) […]

Openings: The London Police – “Brothers in Arms” @ Carmichael Gallery

The London Police opened a huge show last week in Los Angeles at the Carmichael Gallery located out on La Brea. The art lovers of LA came out in strong numbers to support the show and to catch the premiere of the Ashton Kutcher produced “Brothers In Arms” short film (teased) that chronicled 5 days of the TLP being handcuffed together during the final touches of their show. The flim is hilarious and came out so good. Thanks to NOMAD (who’s still in town after his […]

Setup/Preview: The London Police – “Brothers in Arms” @ Carmichael Gallery

As you have seen in the video trailer we posted recently, The TLP (The London Police) show “Brothers in Arms” opening this Thursday looks to be an entertaining show. AM had the opportunity to stop by Carmichael Gallery last week to take a gander at what the dynamic duo were up to. We walked away impressed by their amazing linework (so perfect, it’s been mistaken for silkscreening) and more appreciative of the richer environments and growth of their work ever since Bob Gibson rejoined Chaz […]

Video: The London Police – “Brothers in Arms” Preview

AM stopped by Carmichael Gallery on Friday to check in on Chaz and Bob (The London Police) and their newest show “Brothers in Arms” (teased). We were surprise to see them handcuffed together as they went about finishing up their paintings and setting up their show (some of their best work to date by the way).  Suffice it to say that it will make it interesting in the days leading up to the opening next Thursday night.  We’ll have more on our little visit later […]

Teaser: London Police – “Brothers in Arms” @ Carmichael Gallery

The London Police (TLP) are coming to LA!  Last we saw them, they were opening a solo show at Stolenspace in April (covered).  In these teaser pics, we can definitely see references such as Disneyland, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hollywood sign among many others.  Their solo “Brothers in Arms” is set to open September 10th at Carmichael Gallery. More pics after the jump.

Openings: The London Police – “10 Years On The Circle Line” @ StolenSpace Gallery

The London Police (TLP) opened their show tonight at StolenSpace entitled “10 years On The Circle Line.”  Famous for their “Lads” characters and their simple aesthetic that started about 10 years ago, they come together again to collaborate on a show featuring paintings, photography and a video installation. Their linework is amazing in person, as you consider the iconic “freehand” circle shapes combined with the the new architectural style.  Photos after the jump…
