From the 1st of April through the 1st of May, Okuda San Miguel will be showing his AsiAfricalism solo show at Kallenbach gallery in Amsterdam. Inspired by the exoticism of individuals that the Spanish artist has met during his journeys, unusual portraits mixed with his recognizable vibrant visual language dominate the showcase.

AsiAfricalism includes one sculptural piece, series of four abstract works and five portraits packed with the patterns, bright colors and sharp shapes Okuda has been known for. By using geometry and playing with formats, the street artist creates surrealist imagery that represents “different origins, but the same skin.” From exotic symbols to the alphabet, the new works play with the application of his imagery to different cultural elements and proving its universal strength.
