Streets: T&J Art Walk (Oslo) Part III

It’s time to summarize the remaining murals for the T&J Art Walk now after bringing you the walls from Faile, Shepard Fairey, D*Face, and Logan Hicks previously. The other artists involved include The London Police, who threw up the sick piece above, as well as Will Barras, Fenx, Martin Whatson, and Gallo. Streets: TrustoCorp (LA) Part 1

Judging from the pictures TrustoCorp sent us, the plan was to take their reality show street satires bi-coastal. The only difference was in New York, they hit up pay phone ads (covered) and in Los Angeles, they used bus bench interventions. Artists, what would you give to paint on a piece of history? That’s exactly what happened recently in Germany as artists like Nunca, Miss Van, and McBess were asked to paint on remnants of the Berlin Wall like Chor Boogie did last year for the Stroke.03 Art Fair. Streets: Walk & Talk Festival (Azores) Part II

Besides the amazing boat mural that Phlegm painted for the Walk & Talk Festival in Azores, Portugal, there were also some other familiar names who got up some quality work. Vhils did his home country proud with some chiseled local portraiture, Interesni Kazki continued to impress (see Ibiza) with another large surreal mural, and Escif threw up a cryptic wall with a dinosaur and block lettering. Ron English (featured) started his road trip to Detroit recently, looking to bring some of his art to the city including apparently a hand painted “grin balloon.” Along with some walls and billboards plastered with his “popaganda” imagery at the imfamous Packard Plant location, he also raised his profile in the motor city with something inflatable that could be seen from a distance. After recent visits by Shepard Fairey (covered) and COPE2 (covered), another artist heads over to make his mark in Copenhagen – ROA. The Belgium-based artist was in town for the Galore Festival taking place in the the cultural zone of Toftegårds place in Valby. For his part, the prolific street artist decided to wrap what looks like a scaled serpent painted in his distinctive anatomic style around a tower. After mentioning Faile’s (featured) wall for the T&J Art Walk (and the fun they had with a ping pong table) earlier in the month in an Overtime article, we thought it was time for an update. The event in Oslo was put on in support of the Human Rights Watch (HRW) and to allow memorial murals honoring the victims of the horrific terror attack of July 22. After starting things off earlier this week with the Aryz piece for the See No Evil event in Bristol, we return with a summary of some of the work put up throughout the week. The ambitious event featured a long list of street art and graffiti artists including Nick Walker (interviewed) who made sure to represent his home city with a huge mural on one of the buildings lining Nelson Street. After featuring some of Interesni Kazki’s impressive surrealistic murals in Barcelona and Russia here on AM, we turn to their newest wall, this time in Ibiza. The Ukranian street duo were in town for Bloop Festival, an art event focusing on an interesting phenomenon – an extremely powerful underwater sound detected by the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) years ago with the source of the sound is still unknown.
