After a first look at the Armory Art Show last week with you, we now have a second set of photos to share with you. One of the standouts from the fair can be seen above – Glen Kaino’s installation of copper plated steel arrows entitled A Shout Within the Storm. Enjoy more shots of the artwork below before we start exploring some of the other satellite fairs. Photo credit: AK+ for Arrested Motion. Discuss New York Armory Week here.

Featuring many of the elite galleries in the world, the amount of interesting creations by artists is hard to calculate, let alone see in person. We bring you a look at the visual overload one comes to expect […]
After an overview of this year’s LA Art Show, we now focus in on the Littletopia section (see 2015) of the fair. Like last year, there will be a special section devoted to low brow, pop surrealism, and the new contemporary art movement entitled Littletopia (see 2014). This is where the Roq La Rue booth will reside with works this year from Travis Louie (seen above), Chris Berens, Peter Ferguson, Chie Yoshii, Jeff Jacobson, Femke Hiemstra, and Sail. While walking through the Aqua Art Fair (covered) during Basel Week Miami, we were delighted to come across the work of Tom Fruin at the Paul Loya Gallery booth. Although we were familiar with his amazing stain glass installation pieces (see 2014, 2012), we were not aware of the versatility of the Brooklyn-based artist. On display were metal works fashioned into cop cars and grids as well as a quilt made from found drug bags. Take a look at more photos below… See all our coverage of Basel […]
While taking in the art at the Untitled. art fair (covered) in Miami, we stopped by the booth from Mexico City’s Anonymous Gallery to check out a few works from Pryce Lee. Along with pairing an open cage with one of his “bird hitting the window” works, the artist who balances his time between New York and the UK also contributed one of his signature bullet pieces, but this time incorporating an aquarium. With Basel Week Miami in the rear view mirror, AM will now take time to highlight some of the individual artists and booths that caught our attention. One particular gallery’s offerings that we quite enjoyed at SCOPE (covered) was from Rome’s Wunderkarmmern, especially Mark Jenkins’ (interviewed) clever sculptural work (seen above). On display were also Aakash Nihalani’s geometric musings and Dan Witz’s street based pieces. See all our coverage of Basel Week Miami here. Discuss Mark Jenkins here. Discuss Aakash Nihalani here.
