Basel Week Miami ’16: Juxtapoz Clubhouse

One of the venues jam-packed with goodness during Basel Week Miami was the Juxtapoz Clubhouse, a special project in conjunction between the magazine and Mana Urban Arts Project. The immersive artist retreat and exhibition space in the Wynwood District features collaborations with different artists, galleries and creatives. Encompassing two large spaces with all exclusive art on view, the event will run until December 4th. Updated: solidARTy.org (II)

We recently got an update from solidARTy.org that they are started another round of charity art auctions on their website. The project launched back in November by auctioning artworks donated by artists, galleries and studios, with 100% of the proceeds going to AreYouSyrious.org organization. So far they have raised over €20,000 for the cause and are now continuing their efforts by offering more original and rare, editioned work by world renowned street, urban and contemporary artists. Less than one year after their debut show SWIM 1 (covered), curators Yarrow Slaps from San Francisco and Auguste Somers of Los Angeles opened the next edition of their successful group show on March 18th. Hawaii SWIM 5.0 will be staying on view at New Image Art until April 9th. This showcase includes paintings, drawings and photos from a diverse lineup of 33 vibrant contemporary artists. If you attended any of the previous Supersonic Invitational shows, you know you’re in for a treat. On October 15th, Brett Amory’s (featured) will be presenting a series of new works at Jonathan Levine Gallery (557C West 23rd Street). This Land is Not For Sale: Forgotten, Past and Foreseeable Futures, in its entirety, is a protest against the gentrification of New York’s Lower East Side. With this being the last week of the Invisible College group exhibition at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, now would be a good time for a recap.
