Preview: Bonhams Urban Art Auction

Tonight in London, the Bonhams Urban Art Auction will be getting underway. With the pieces that are made available for bidding and the results of great interest to collectors out there, all eyes will be on the lots up for sale including many familiar names and some new ones. Of note is the renewed confidence or at least renewed hopes in the Banksy market with no less than 17 works offered up including the first time for Leopard and Barcode (est. £60,000-80,000). See all the [...]

Openings: Lucas Price – ‘The Friends of Tony Romanoff’ @ Pure Evil Gallery

It was said that The Friends of Tony Romanoff was to be curated by Lucas Price, but the intriguing press release we read for this show was so ambiguous that AM didn’t quite know what to expect. The exhibition, which opened last Thursday, as we kind of expected, turned out to be a collection of new work authored solely by Lucas. Pure Evil Gallery played host to the exhibition, which was a refreshing change to see Lucas’ more contemporary side emerging, based around mixed media [...]

Studio Visit: Lucas Price

Lucas Price seems to be an artist in an ever changing state of evolution. In order to fund the film, BC have kept it strictly DIY, and are releasing a limited edition box-set of nine prints. Each box-set gives the owner a [...]

Openings: Attention Spam @ Adapta Gallery

A little late news, but “Attention Spam” opened last month in Hong Kong at the launch of Adapta Gallery (A collaboration between Schoeni Art Gallery Hong Kong and UKAdapta London). This group show featured the works of Cyclops, David Bray, Vesna Parchet as well as Word to Mother and D*face (seen above). Adapta Gallery hopes to bring more exposure of urban art scene to what we think will be a very receptive audience in Hong Kong.
