Streets: World Roundup (May 14 – May 20)

Streets: Faith47 (Melbourne)

The South Africa-based Faith47 recently sent us a photo of her latest piece, If Winter Comes. The large mural is located in Melbourne where she is in town about to open her joint show entitled Antenna Garden with DAL tonight, April 26th, at Rtist Gallery. Preview: “International Women” @ Warrington Museum

With the opening scheduled for March 29th, the Warrington Museum in UK gets ready to host International Women, a group show featuring 15 artists from 10 countries. Curated by Frankie Shea & Tina Ziegler, the lineup includes Catalina Estrada, Elizabeth Mcgrath, Faith 47, Hera, Holly Thoburn, Kukula, Mel Kadel, Miss Van, Pam Glew, Sarah Joncas, Stella Im Hultberg, Swoon, Tara Mcpherson and Xue Wang. Update: Faith47 & DAL

South Africa-based artists and newlyweds Faith47 and DAL recently sent over some images of their studio space as well as some things they have been working on. Besides their constant presence on the streets with their murals, they are also scheduled to make an appearance at Carbon next month and have a joint show in Melbourne at the Rtist Gallery in April. Streets: CityLeaks Summary – Faith47, DAL, ROA, Herakut, INTI

We’ve already shown you the walls that Blu and Ethos painted for the CityLeaks Festival in Germany, but it looks like it’s time for a summary of some of the rest of the participants. As we have become accustomed to, street artists Faith47 and DAL worked on murals with religious overtones and frenetic energy respectively. Belgium-based ROA brought his new skinned animal concepts from indoors to outdoors. Herakut painted one of their signature collaborative pieces for their home country with some of their pensive lettering. [...]

Currently showing at the Von Der Heydt Museum in Wuppertal, Germany is an exhibition with a rather cumbersome title – Street Art – Meanwhile in deepest East Anglia, thunderbirds were go . . . . Not sure who came up with the name, but included are a great group of street artists – Ash, Herbert Baglione, Boxi, Brad Downey, Ben Eine, Faith47, Boris Hoppek, Mark Jenkins, JR, Os Gêmeos, Mirko Reisser (DAIM), Swoon, and Zezão. Setup: Moniker Art Fair – London 2010

We’re in London excited for the upcoming Moniker Art Fair on October 14th-17th (coinciding with Frieze Art Fair). It looks to be a rad event with many of the galleries that you’ve come to love on AM exhibiting like New Image Art, Carmichael Gallery, Black Rat Projects, CampBarbossa, Galleria Patricia Armocida and Anonymous Gallery.
