Streets: World Roundup (July 11 – July 31)

We end July this year with another Streets World Roundup, covering some of the public art from around the globe that you may have missed. Leading things off is a 600 meter mural Evoca1 painted in Abu Dhabi just in time for Eid al-Fitr. Streets / Recap: Cities of Hope (Manchester)

After sharing with you what Phlegm painted for Cities of Hope in Manchester, we now have photos from what the other artists contributed to the unique event. Hyuro, Pichiavo, Martin Whatson, C215, Faith47, Nevercrew, Axel Void, and Case also chose a local charity to link up with that battles with social issues while painting a mural to support the cause. From the 26th of March until the 10th of April, the Belgian coastal city of Ostend hosted The Crystal Ship festival on its streets. Better known for their beer festival, the town instead gifted their public space to world-renowned artists to create works through the city. Streets: Pangeaseed – “Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans” (New Zealand) – Part II

After a look at some of the artists at work on their pieces for the Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans project sponsored by the PangeaSeed Foundation, here is a look at some select walls they painted. The muralists were invited in by the non-profit in Napier, New Zealand to create works to raise awareness for ocean environmental issues. Streets: Pangeaseed – “Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans” (New Zealand) – Part I

PangeaSeed Foundation recently took off on another large expedition – accompanied by 29 international and local artists as they launched the newest edition of their Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans street art festival in Napier, New Zealand. This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to raise awareness, stimulate dialogue, change perception, and inspire positive change around pressing ocean environmental issues through the power art, science, and creativity. Earlier this week, Faith47 finished a mural in East Harlem on the corner of 103 Street and Madison Avenue entitled Estamos Todos Los Que Cabemos, a part of MonumentArt, presented by the La Marqueta Retoña initiative. World traveller and prolific street artist Faith47 has been painting a series of murals in Jersey City and NYC in recent weeks. This particular piece featuring the South Africa-based artist’s signature swans and color palette went up in Jersey City Heights on the side of a multi-story building.
