On 1the 4th of August, Lazarides Rathbone gallery officially opened a major solo exhibition by Lucas Price aka Cyclops entitled Dumb Poetry. Both artist and the gallery used his debut appearance at this space to put together an impressive, coherent show. Last week, AM had the opportunity to visit Heath Ceramics in San Francisco where Brendan Monroe (interviewed) was hard at work in the upstairs workshop on an upcoming show. Opening September 25th in the ceramics studio and store’s Bay Area Boiler Room, Morphology will reveal months of work the Oakland-based artist has put in testing his limits with larger pieces, carefully choosing glazes, and bringing to life (in three dimensions) concepts and elements of his visual language. Streets: James Bullough (Richmond)

For those who enjoyed the mural James Bullough painted at the Long Beach Museum of Art (covered), take a look at what he followed it up with. Going big in Virginia for the Richmond Mural Project last month, the Berlin-based artist got up on the side of building situated on Lombardy & Broad streets. His portraiture oftentimes features the image broken up sporadically like it was transmitted with glitches, resulting in a signature fractured look. Photo credit: Benjah Photography. After the exclusive press preview held on the 20th of August (covered), the 21st was day zero for Banksy’s newest and biggest show to date. From the early morning, locals started lining up for “locals only day,” the artist’s own initiative that offered 1,000 North Somerset people the chance to see and experience the it completely free – before its official opening. Along with main attractions (covered) of the fairground such as the game of tipping an anvil with a ping pong ball, sculptures and installations by Banksy scattered around the site, Dismaland has a large art gallery. Banksy phenomenon once again showed it’s strength, influence and unpredictable nature when his largest project to date, Dismaland, opened doors for the press preview earlier today. Placed within the walls of a derelict lido site Tropicana in in Weston Super Mare, the show is built as a Bemusement Park for a family day out, but instead of sugar-coated fantasy land, it sends out a bit different message – sorry kids. After recent collaborative pieces with JR and Andre Saraiva (covered), Os Gemeos rounded up their stay in NYC with a massive new mural. Last week for the BREGHEDEBRE event in Sassari, Italy, Ericailcane was invited in to paint the facade of the facade of the former Hotel Turritania. After this was completed, artists Andrea D’Ascanio, Andrea Casciu, Kiki Skipi, Elisa Desortes, Bastardilla joined the Italian mural painter in holding a live printmaking session for their fans. CAC Málaga, in collaboration with the British Council, recently opened up the first solo exhibition in Spain from D*Face (interviewed). The London-based artist’s work was seen for the first time in Málaga in 2013 when he created an immense mural for the MAUS Project (covered) along with Shepard Fairey.
