Recently in Stockholm, Os Gemeos finished a mural on Fiskargatan 9 on the side of a multistory building featuring their distinctive imagery. Organized by All You See Is Crime In The City and supported by Highlights Store, Montana Colors official distributor in Sweden, the piece depicts a few of the Brazilian duo’s yellow-skinned characters. Pirelli HangarBicocca recently released a new book documenting the creation of Os Gemeos’ intervention for their Outside the Cube project (covered). Coming up on September 8, OSGEMEOS will be opening their solo show at the 536 West 22nd Street location of Lehmann Maupin in New York. Entitled Silence of the Music, the show will continue the duo’s series of works featuring yellow and brown skinned characters juxtaposed against patterned backgrounds and urban environments. For this year’s Monoco GP, Os Gemeos have designed a special helmet for fellow countryman and Formula One driver Felipe Massa. With the relaxing of the rule forcing drivers to keep a single helmet design for a whole year (now allowed one special set of colors once per season), the Brazilian racer took advantage and asked the artistic duo to create the imagery for the new headwear including a painted version of his wife and son on the top. As previously reported, Os Gemeos recently spent some time in Milan, working on the first intervention in a new program by Pirelli’s HangarBicocca – Outside the Cube. After collaborating with JR (interviewed) in Paris on some meaningful pieces (covered), Os Gemeos traveled to Milan to paint the inaugural mural for the “Outside the Cube” project. The Brazilian brothers Os Gemeos are currently in Europe, working on a couple of different projects. Their first stop was in Paris where they collaborated with a long time friend and fellow artist/photographer, JR (interviewed), creating an installation in the tunnels of the Palais de Tokyo.
