The worlds of art and fashion design often collide, and it seems that Dan Baldwin’s (interviewed) multi-layered textures are soon to make it onto the clothing racks of London’s well-heeled fashionistas. Dan is no stranger to working in different mediums, and we think that his art fits pretty well on these silk linings and fabrics used in collaboration with British fashion designer Sara Berman on her upcoming 2010 autumn collection. Releases: Supakitch – “Supamoto” @ Pigment Editions

Dropping 1pm Eastern today at Pigment Editions is a sick new print by our Gallic homeboy Supakitch. The 18 x 24″ print, entitled “Supamoto,” is no giclee, ink-jet, rolled-out in mass quantities. Instead, it’s truly a love-labored collaboration between artist and master printer – using only the best homemade archival inks on nice thick paper. Recently, we stopped by Tomokazu “Matsu” Matsuyama’s (interviewed) Brooklyn studio (here) and saw one of the coolest things he’s working on – a Bearbrick with famed toy makers Medicom on their next artist series release. Hot on the heels of Martin Wittfooth’s solo show, “Tempest”, opening last weekend at Copro Gallery (previewed here), Virtu Gallery has just released a new fine art edition from the New York based artist. “The Blind Fisherman”, one of AM’s favourite paintings by Wittfooth from last year – the original painting first seen at Jonathan Levine’s Beach Blanket Bingo 2009 summer group show (covered here) – is now available in signed and numbered editions of 40 on varnished paper and an uber-limited edition of 10 on varnished canvas.
